There was only 5-6 person flat for generation one public rental housing. 4 to 5 person flat was used to be the major proportion in the older generations. In more recent generations, 2-4 and 1-2 person flats are dominating proportion of public rental housing.

The increase in flats with 1-2 person was notable.  Reflecting (i) the tendency of people living alone; (ii) more young people living apart from their parents after marriage; and (iii) couples choosing to have one or even no child.
