Executive Summary

Based on the theme of ‘Housing Crisis in Hong Kong’, a new generation of public rental housing has been proposed to deal with the situation. The model incorporates the idea of co-living and inter-generational living to reduce the problem of the public housing shortage and rising number of single-living elderly. Researches have been made showing that the urgent need of housing for, and outcomes have been calculated showing a favourable return in spatial efficiency. An interview with Housing Society member was also conducted for further refinement to the scheme.

Different project management tools have been used in the project. A learning contract has been drafted and signed for setting out the scope, goals and objectives, means of completion and assessment method. Project programming monitors the time management throughout the progress for better time allocation on tasks and ensuring the standard of work by means of monitoring the time input. Peer assessments were conducted to evaluate on one another the division of labor and quality of work among group mates. The tools have been incorporated and utilised fully and rendered the exhibition held on 21 November successful.
